Ballot number and results are displayed below from the 16th to the 20th of February 2026, 54 casting ballots of “No”, 16 casting “Yes”, and 2 ballots without a decision marked on the ballots. Total ballots counted so far are 213 households as “No” to the trail, 48 as “Yes”, and 2 without a decision marked on the ballot.

Ballot number and results are in from the 13th of February 2026, 10 casting ballots of “No” and 8 casting “Yes” Ballots. Total ballots are 159 households as “No” to the trail and 32 as “Yes”.

St Augustine South community residents are continuing to gather votes in a straw poll this weekend. The location to cast a ballot on Saturday, Feb. 28th – 12pm to 3pm at the old Firehouse location located near Wawa.

Only one ballot is accepted per a St Augustine South residential household. We doublecheck to see if that household has voted previously. If you are unsure, just ask.

We have the final tally from the St. Augustine South resident straw-poll held on February 11, 2026, regarding the proposed construction of the Shore Drive Park Trail.

The Results The community turned out to make their voices heard. The final count is as follows:

Against Construction: 149 Households
For Construction: 25 Households

A Transparent & Verified Process – To ensure the integrity of the ballots, a strict verification process was followed. Each household that participated received a numbered ballot to record their name, address, and vote.

Before casting their choice, residents signed their ballots and logged their specific ballot number next to their address on a master sheet. This ensured accuracy and prevented duplicate entries. All ballots were placed in a sealed box, which was opened and tallied in the presence of a St. Johns County Board Commissioner. Here is a PDF of the Voting Results confirmed by the number given on each voters ballot.

Clay Murphy reviewed each ballot twice to ensure validity before publicly announcing the results. The entire counting and verification process took approximately 30 minutes.
